The Dissipating Cloud
The daily flow of Brain Chem has dipped back to Low Tide over the past week leaving me with a happy memory of 3 weeks of constant bliss. The Magic Buzz slipped out the back door when I wasn't looking with no side effects, this a good thing.
The plus is that now I can function, the minus is that I am nearly back to pre-med levels of frustration and rage. I can feel my throat constricting already.
My dreams have been particularly vivid these past few days, leading me down the road of creativity. I have a paper, pad and flashlight ready for the midnight epiphany.
The moral of the stoy so far is this: a constant state of ecstacy to the brain may not be such a good thing. Not simply because of the impact on your brain, but behind the psychology of actually getting what you want.
I think the human condition is all about skating the edge between pleasure and pain. The tension is the energy that drives us, like a hurricane and moves us forward, other wise we remain in a static, non-active existence.
Homer knew it over 2000 years ago. Lotus Eating, while fun...very, very fun, leads you nowhere.
Then again, back on Earth, I'm ready to be lifted again. Maybe Lotus Eating leads you Knowwhere. Heh. Gosh I'm clever.
